The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Reviews:
The Falcon and the winter soldier never got their solo movies but thanks to the history of our real universe, they needed more than that. Thus, they get a whole miniseries of movies that was not only deserving but packed with real-world nuance and realism that involves Marvel Superheroes that still fit everyday life social issues.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier steadies its focus on where it should: Sam and Bucky. This series shows how truly human they are despite being superheroes. Its style and emotional weight is very in tune with the Captain America films and they’re the best part of the whole MCU. Regardless of its flaws, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier stands proudly beside its cinematic predecessors.
In comparison to Avengers, Infinity War, Endgame & other Marvel movies
This show, really stands out from other Marvel content, First of all, It’s more violent than other Marvel Content from past year. I most definitely don’t mean this, in a bad way, but rather it gives a furthermore better perspective into the show, without holding back as much, in certain scenarios.
Everyone has their shades of grey and their own justifiable reasons make it a compelling watch. While I had my doubts at the beginning, especially when the trailers were released, but the acting, VFX, action and set pieces make it a great show. Cleverly placed references to the past movies and a dynamic soundtrack that has motifs to each and every character(Bucky’s theme as the Winter Soldier, Zemo’s theme, an off-sounding Cap theme for John Walker), everything is cleverly done. Also, the bro-hood between Sam and Buck is a treat to watch. Racism is dealt with in a wonderful and smart way, making you really think and ponder on those questions raised in the series. Never before has there been a more intensive study on ‘What it takes to be Captain America’. This has me pumped up for the next shows Disney+ and Marvel have to offer!
The entire show is about haves and have not. Who deserves power and who has power and how is power used and abused. That being said it is not clinical in the least. Examples drawn form the real world and writ large with Marvel’s classic action and pacing. Television characterization and Movie level FX in one package. It is not a mystery per se rather a road movie, buddy cop, even more lethal Leathal Weapon maybe Leathal Weapons. This show is evidence Marvel has stories to tell with all of it’s characters and no doubt the shared universe will see ripple effects from what is done here.
How The Falcon and The Winter add up to Marvel Phase 4
After WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Disney+ will now showcase Loki. Loki will be headed by Tom Hiddleston as the lead in a series format that features the god of mischief after he creates an alternate timeline with the version of Loki that stole the Tesseract in the last movie of Marvel Phase 3: Avengers Endgame
No second season of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has been announced. Fans can expect a lot of shows from Disney+ since the movie universe is now mixed with small series and this will be how Marvel Phase 4 will be setup.
